How is the ILC Program different?

  • We are on a 3 block school day schedule that runs from 8:00-1:00.
  • We treat each 9 week quarter as a semester.
  • We use a mastery learning system where students receive only pass/fail grades. Students must have an average grade of 75% in a course to pass.
  • Pass/Fail grades do not affect student grade point average.
  • Classes are smaller, typically 6-15 students per class.
  • Students are primarily assessed using projects, discussions and papers instead of traditional tests or quizzes.
  • Students complete all school work in the building.
  • Students participate in team-building, community service and field trips as an entire school.
  • Resident students must provide their own transportation to and from school.
  • Students attending the ILC are not eligible for the A+ program.
