The Rockwood School District is home to almost 21,000 students. Our premier school district is located in West St. Louis County, and has a reputation founded on high student achievement, outstanding teachers and staff and great community support.
Our mission of doing whatever it takes to ensure all students realize their potential is at the center of our work. In Rockwood, we want every child to succeed. The school district's 33 schools and supporting programs make up one of the highest performing school districts in the country.
This year, Rockwood began a collective effort guided by our Rockwood Superintendent Dr. Eric Knost to ensure all students have champions. Rockwood champions extend a hand. They connect with children to encourage them to be their best selves. Champions are advocates who make a school day a little brighter regardless of any circumstance.
"Our Rockwood community works hard to make our schools great places for students," shared Superintendent Knost. "Research tells us that when kids have at least one strong relationship in their school, they are more successful in acquiring positive behaviors to support their learning. We want every child to feel this high level of support at school."
