​​​Welcome to Eureka High School!  We're glad that you're here! The information on this web page will give you some information about the ESOL department and what you need to bring and think about if you want to come to Eureka High Scho​ol.

EHS has a very diverse student body.  We come from all over the United States and the world.  You will feel like this is your school.  The staff at EHS wants all of its students to have a successful educational experience and everyone will work to help you achieve this.

Registration at EHS is easy. First call (636) 733-3100 and ask for the Guidance Office.  A secretary will make an registration appointment for you.  When you come for your appointment, bring the following items, if possible:

  • Official birth certificate or passport 

  • Immunization record
  • Social security number or resident alien (green) card 
  • Recent report/grade card or official transcript from your last school.  Credit may be given toward a Eureka High School diploma.
  • Physical form completed by your doctor.  Eureka High School has this form.
  • Proof of residency. A copy of your building contract, rental contract or utility bill.
  • Parent/guardian identification
  • If you do not live with your biological parents, you will need to bring 'proof of custody' and call the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services for more information. 

Classes at Eureka will prepare you for college and more.  You will have required classes that you must take to graduate.  Some of these classes are history, English, math and science.  You will have some elective classes which you get to select yourself.  Take this opportunity to learn many new things from subject areas like cooking, computers, photography, drama or exercise.  Look at the Guidance web page to find out more about classes and graduation.​

ESOL class is just for you.  We want to help you have a successful academic experience.  ESOL class  can be one period a day with individualized instruction during your study hall.  Academic English and cultural literacy are emphasized.  Class size ranges from 1 to 4 students. ESOL services can also be used for extra help when you need it. You can come in during your regular class hours and seek individualize instruction for help with a test, review or project.  You will make new friends here.  We will help you get acquainted with the EHS "family."

Clubs and Activities are a very important part of all American high schools.  You may want to participate in sports, drama, marching band and clubs.  The Guidance Office or ESOL teacher can provide this information to you.
