Monday, September 25th is a Late Start day and also the day your 10th-grade child will participate in the new Pre-ACT assessment produced by ACT (Testing Schedule below). The Pre-ACT provides a unique practice experience for taking the ACT test.
All Rockwood students in their 11th-grade year of high school participate in the Statewide ACT. Pre-ACT results give students, parents, and educators valuable insights into students' predicted performance on the ACT as they plan for a future that aligns with their interests.
The Pre-ACT also includes the ACT Interest Inventory to help students begin thinking about careers and college majors.
We hope all families will discuss the importance of the Pre-ACT with their child and ensure they have proper rest and nutrition in the days leading up to the assessment.
PRE ACT TEST - Sophomores
Super proud of the Science department! Many teachers started the day with 6 BIG questions:
- What are you passionate about?
- How do you want to be recognized?
- What do you feel is your greatest strength?
- What name do you want to use in this class?
- What will a successful school year look like and feel like for you?
- What are the characteristics or attributes you need in a teacher?

As we get back to planning for next year, I want to let you know that I am moving with the class of 2020 for next year to become the 10th grade principal at EHS! I am very excited to follow this class and watch them grow into sophomores!
Mr. George Calhoun will serve as the freshman principal for the Class of 2021 and Katie Melies will be the 9th-grade secretary. Mr. Calhoun and I, along with our secretaries are meeting today to discuss transition plans and share information I have regarding the Class of 2021.
If you have information or questions related to incoming 9th graders, please reach out to Mr. Calhoun or the 9th-grade secretary, Katie Melies.
Have a great summer!
Student Mentors were training after their last exam on Thursday while the rest of EHS was starting Summer! They had a blast and began to plan for incoming freshman next Fall.
Talk about COMMITMENT?!? That's how we roll at EHS!
We said goodbye to the Class of 2017 last night at graduation. It is always a bittersweet moment watching as they cross the stage and become alumni. We love them and have, with their families, invested in their future.
Good Luck! Congratulations to all!
