Thank You!

It is difficult to wrap my brain around today - the LAST DAY - with kids. It is always bittersweet, knowing they have grown and are moving forward in life, but also remember the great experiences throughout the year. I am grateful to the Class of 2020 for the past two years. Working with you and your family has been a privilege and I am sincerely thankful.

I hope every Wildcat family has a great summer and enjoys time together in reflection as well as relaxation. Connect with friends, try something new and remember to wear sunscreen!

Final Exam Info

Today marks the beginning of exam week at Eureka for all freshman, sophomores, and juniors. Please be mindful of the following:

  • Students are NOT ALLOWED to leave the building if they complete an exam before the end of the exam period.

  • If a student is ill for an exam a parent must call attendance or grade level office to report the issue.  The student will have to make up the exam missed on one of the makeup exam dates below:

    • Final exam make-ups will be held on May 29th, 30th, and 31st in the library from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Final Exemption Form

Happy Tuesday!

Students may qualify to exempt one (1) final exam if they meet the requirements for an exemption. Students need to have earned an "A" (90%, non-weighted) in an eligible course for this semester. Please fill out the information on the form to potentially qualify to exempt that final exam.

Very Important: Students must check their exemption status with their teacher to ensure they remain eligible. If student exemption status changes and they are no longer eligible for the exemption, it is THE STUDENT's responsibility to know this and show up to take the final exam.

The form closes at 8:00 am on 5/21/18.

If students fail to complete the form by the deadline, they are required to take all exams and attend all classes throughout finals week.

If you have any questions, please see your teacher or grade level principal.

Final Exam Schedule, Exemptions, and Study Hall

We are quickly approaching Final Exams for the second semester. To prepare, students should begin organizing all materials needed for each class in which they will take an exam.

Reviewing material for a few minutes each night in preparation is much better than trying to 'cram' for final exams. Talk with teachers to ensure you have all the review items necessary to prepare.

If you plan to exempt an exam, you must meet the requirement to do so. Check with your class teacher to make certain you are eligible. If so, you will need to fill out the exemption form sent to your RSDMO student email account on Monday, 5/14/18 to request the exemption.

*Failing to complete the form may prevent you from this privilege.

Final Exam Schedule:

Monday, May 21

  • Period 1 Final 8:16-10:16 (short schedule for the remainder of classes)

Tuesday, May 22

  • Period 2 Final 8:16–10:16 and Period 3 Final 10:26-12:26

Wednesday, May 23

  • Period 4 Final 8:16–10:16 and Period 5 Final 10:26-12:26

Thursday, May 24

  • Period 6 Final 8:16- 10:16 and Period 7 Final 10:26-12:26

Students with Study Hall may choose to not attend school during the exam period for Study Hall. In order to have absence EXCUSED, you must fill out the STUDY HALL EXEMPTION FORM with parent signature. A copy of the form will be distributed to all Study Hall classes on Monday, 5/14/18 for all 9, 10 and 11th grade students and is due by 3:05 pm Friday, 5/18/18.

Please note: An absence for Study Hall counts against A+ attendance.  Please contact your grade level office if you have any questions.

A Message from the Principal

Dear Eureka High Families,

One of the qualities of a safe school is clear and open communication.  We are fortunate that our students and families have strong relationships with our Eureka staff, and that they are willing to share any concerns or rumors they may hear.

Recently, we were made aware of some allegations of a threat to the school. We acted immediately and notified district officials and law enforcement who have thoroughly investigated the situation.  I can assure you that many of the rumors circulating via social media are inaccurate, and there is no known credible threat to our school. Regardless, we take all concerns seriously, and you can be assured we will always handle such matters thoroughly. We are prepared for a normal school day on Friday, April 20.

I understand that our parents and students are living in a time of heightened awareness of school safety. I can assure you that school safety is our first priority as well.  To reassure our students and families, we’ve asked our local Eureka police officers to have an extra presence at our school on Friday.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call.

Charles Crouther, Principal
