Mr. Balog has taught at Lafayette High School since 2000. He has served as Director of Bands at Lafayette since the Fall of 2003.
Mr. Balog is a 1998 graduate of Truman State University
where he studied Trumpet with Dr. Greg Jones. Mr. Balog was a Graduate Assistant at Truman State University from 1999-2000, where he studied conducting with Mr. Dan Peterson and Dr. David Nichols. He earned a Master of Arts in Conducting in 2000 and a Master of Arts in Education in 2001 from Truman State University.
At Lafayette High School, Mr. Balog teaches the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, AP Music Theory, Jazz Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, Lancer Regiment Marching Band, and Home Court Advantage. Mr. Balog also assists at Rockwood Valley Middle School.
Mrs. Parks is an Assistant Band Director at Lafayette High School. 2016 is Mrs. Parks' first year at LHS, and she has been teaching since 2009. Her degrees include a B.A. in Music and a M.A. in Education from Truman State University. At Lafayette, Mrs. Parks teaches Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and AP Music Theory. She also teaches extracurricular groups including the Lancer Regiment Marching Band. Mrs. Parks is a Lafayette High School graduate and is thrilled to bring her husband, Ryan, and son, Peyton, to Lancer Nation!
Mr. Long is an Assistant Band Director and Percussion Specialist for multiple bands and ensembles at Lafayette High School. He also assists at Rockwood Valley Middle School. He is a sought after clinician and adjudicator throughout the United States.
Mr. Long received both his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance from Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York. He studied under James Petercsak, Dr. Timothy Topolewski, Ernie Muzquiz, and Jason Powell.
