Some of the best advice educators give students is to get involved during these high school years. The same is true for parents! We have many opportunities for you to help during the school year - the biggest of which is The Taste Of West County.

Taste of West County

Parents— please join us in Room 180 on Tuesday, September 18th at 7 pm  for a parent meeting to discuss plans for the Taste of West County our Junior Fundraiser!   This is a great way to connect to other junior parents and support our students.

We are in need of committee chairs as well as people willing to volunteer prior to and day of the event.  Committees include

Decorating/Signage:  Develops and constructs restaurant signs and posters, plans decorations for the room, centerpieces, etc.; must be available Sunday morning before the event and Monday afternoon to assist in hanging signs and placing decorations on the table.

Drinks/Supplies: Obtain water and coke products; coordinates drink sales during the event; works with Restaurant Committee to provide paper goods and utensils for restaurants; turn in proceeds at the end of the evening to the treasurer.

Publicity: Coordinate advertising the event in the LPO website, local papers, local restaurants, posters in hallway, etc.

Restaurants:  Contact, obtain and serve as liaison to participating restaurants; solicit non-participating restaurants for raffle gift card for Silent Auction/Raffle Committee; follow with survey and thank you card after event.

Raffle/ Balloon Pop:  Solicit gift certificates or items from the junior class parents and their businesses, etc.  Put together baskets/boxes etc. display; ticket sales for raffle; organize and run raffle/ balloon pop during the event; turn in monies to treasurer.

Ticket Sales:  Design and print tickets; pre-sell tickets at school events, lunch periods, via email requests and at night of the event; turn in monies received to treasurer.

Volunteers: Solicit volunteers to help during event and/or committees; be available night of the event to check in volunteers, direct to assignments, provide name tags and trouble shoot as needed.

Special Need – We would especially appreciate any help connecting with restaurants, so if you have a favorite restaurant, please consider asking them to join us for Taste.  If you have contacts with any restaurant or beverage vendors, please let us know.
