Rockwood School Board Approves New Positions

Rockwood School Board approved the hiring of several new staff members at its April 11 meeting. Please welcome the following staff members to the district and their new positions effective July 2019.​

Executive Director Communications: Mr. Alex Fees  

Alex Fees 2 size 200 cropped.jpgMr. Alex Fees is currently the communications coordinator for the Rockwood School District, a position he has held since 2016. He has 25 years of experience as a communications manager, producer, videographer and reporter for St. Louis television news stations. From 2003-2009, he produced weekly episodes of “Cardinals Crew,” a program for kids on Fox Sports Midwest.

Mr. Fees earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Southeast Missouri State University. He will assume the position currently held by Cathy Orta who will retire at the end of the school year.


Marquette High School Principal: Dr. Steve Hankins

Marquette Principal Dr. Steve Hankins 04-12-19 size 200.jpg​Dr. Steve Hankins is currently the associate principal of Marquette High School, a position he has held since 2015. Prior to that, he was assistant principal at Fort Zumwalt South High School from 2010-2015. He started at Marquette High School in 2002 where he served as a teacher, coach and assistant principal. His career in education began as a teacher, coach and para-educator in Knox County School District and Kirkville High School.

Dr. Hankins earned a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University, and a certification in educational administration from Lindenwood University. In addition, his master’s degree in social studies education is from Truman State University. His bachelor’s degree in history is from Northeast Missouri State University. He will assume the position currently held by Dr. Greg Mathison who is leaving the district at the end of the school year.


Kehrs Mill Elementary School Principal: Ms. Beth Sciarratta

Kehrs Mill Principal Elizabeth Sciarratta 04-12-19 size 200.jpgMs. Beth Sciarratta is currently the assistant principal at Kehrs Mill Elementary School, a position she has held since 2015. This summer she will serve as the principal of Rockwood Summer Academy at the Kehrs Mill location. She began her career in education in the Parkway School District as a first-grade and fourth-grade teacher.

Ms. Sciarratta earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Missouri Baptist University, and a master’s degree in elementary education from Truman State University. Her educational specialist degree is from Missouri Baptist, where she is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership. Her bachelor’s degree in psychology is from Truman State University. She will assume the position currently held by Dr. Sarah Padberg who is leaving the district at the end of the school year.




Coordinator of Math 6-12: Ms. Marietta Koziatek

Ms. Marietta Koziatek is currently a mathematics teacher at Lafayette High School and serves as the math department chair. She began her career in Rockwood in 2005 as a substitute teacher and math department aide. She has served on curriculum writing and review teams for Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and math intervention.


Ms. Koziatek earned a master’s degree in education from Missouri Baptist University. Her bachelor’s degree in economics is from The George Washington University. She will assume the position currently held by Ms. Lisa Lingle who will retire in June 2019.



Woerther Elementary School Administrative Intern: Ms. Jennifer Yuede

Ms. Jennifer Yuede is currently a fifth-grade teacher at Woerther Elementary, a position she has held since 2014. In addition, she serves as the fifth-grade team leader. She has also served as the assistant principal of Rockwood Summer Academy in 2017.


Ms. Yuede earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Southwest Baptist University, and a master’s degree in education from Lindenwood University. Her bachelor’s degree in psychology is from Missouri State University. She will assume the position currently held by Ms. Corinne Luczak who will be the assistant principal at Eureka Elementary effective July 2019.



Partners in Education Coordinator: Mr. Emanuel Young

In 2016, as state program coordinator, he launched Virtual Enterprise International, a project-based, career-readiness program that fosters collaboration, problem solving, and soft skill development through student management of a cooperative business. Prior to that, he was the career and technical education coordinator and business education teacher at Manhattan Business Academy, where he coordinated student career development opportunities with the support of local business partners.

Mr. Young earned a master’s degree in secondary education from Brooklyn College. His bachelor’s degree in business administration is from Morehouse College. He will assume the position currently held by Ms. Kim Litzau who is retiring at the end of the school year. 

Blevins Elementary School Administrative Intern: Mr. Tim Rebholz

Blevins Administrative Intern Tim Rebholz size 200 04-12-19.jpg​Mr. Tim Rebholz is currently a ​second-grade teacher at Forder Elementary School in the Mehlville School District, a position he has held since 2007. He is a participant in the Mehlville Leadership Development Program, and serves as a substitute principal at Forder and Beasley Elementary Schools. 

Mr. Rebholz earned a master’s degree in educational administration from ​​Missouri Baptist University​​ and a master’s degree in education from Southwest Baptist University. His bachelor’s degree in elementary education is from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He is currently working towards earning a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University. ​He will assume the position currently held by Ms. Stephanie Taggert who is leaving the district at the end of the school year.​​
