After Eureka Elementary students and staff move into their new school, located on 13.5 acres at the intersection of Rockwood Arbor Drive and Workman Road, the current Eureka Elementary will be converted into an Early Childhood Center.

Rockwood Facilities Director Chris Freund said, "We're currently working with Early Childhood Executive Director Dr. Jane Brown and her staff to see what changes need to be made to best accommodate them for serving preschool students."

Freund characterized what is happening now at Eureka Elementary as the design stage.

"We'll need to make very light modifications" he said. "Those classrooms are being utilized by kindergarten students now."

Brown said, "We are making plans now for opening in the fall of 2019 and will offer all of our preschool programs at our new Eureka Early Childhood Center.  Our program is growing because we know the long term impact of an excellent start for our Rockwood students even before they come to us for kindergarten."
