Rockwood invites our school community to join us for a Way Forward community feedback meeting. It’s an opportunity to learn about our progress on a proposed strategic plan. Please mark your calendars:
Date: Wednesday, May 8
Time: 7 – 8 p.m.
Location: Rockwood Administrative Annex A-100
Address: 500 North Central in Eureka
“Last fall, we asked our school community to share their hopes, dreams and aspirations for our students as we prepare them for success in learning and life,” shares Dr. Lisa Counts, assistant superintendent supervision of schools. “Utilizing this feedback, we developed a Profile of a Rockwood Learner as a foundation for our work. Now, goal leaders and subcommittees are ready to share goals, objectives and action steps that will make our profile a reality for all students.”
How will participants learn about the components of the proposed strategic plan?
During the community feedback meeting on May 8, participants will have the opportunity for small group discussions with goal leaders who will share their work and listen to the comments and feedback of all attendees.
How will participants share their thoughts about the proposed strategic plan?
During the meeting, participants will use the social survey, Thoughtexchange, to share their thoughts and rate the thoughts of others. This is the same survey utilized by the district at the beginning of our strategic planning process.
What if I’m not able to attend the May 8 community feedback meeting?
On May 9, Rockwood will provide all the information shared during the meeting on The Way Forward: The Plan website at www.rsdmo.org/forward. All members of the Rockwood school community can review our mission, vision, core values, profile of a learner, and our SUCCESS goal areas that include the objectives and action steps.
- Student Academic Learning
- Universal Equity, Opportunity and Access
- Character and Well-Being
- Community Networks
- Efficient and Effective Operations
- Staff, Teachers and Learners
- Strong Leadership
In addition, all community members may participate in Thoughtexchange via a link on the The Way Forward website. The exchange will be open from May 8-14. What happens next?
The Way Forward goal leaders will review all feedback to improve our proposed strategic plan. Then, we will identify multiple measures of evidence of learning and growth for each objective and develop a roadmap for the next five years of implementation. Each objective will be reviewed annually from 2020-2025 to ensure accountability toward the strategic plan. As we move forward, the action steps and strategies may be refined and updated as we meet the future needs of our students and school community.Questions?
