Mission Statement

All students will be valued and provided results-based instruction in the areas of Career, Academic, and Personal Social Development, through a comprehensive guidance program, as they acquire skills, abilities and attitudes that empower them to be lifelong contributing members of society.
Our guidance and counseling program includes:
- CURRICULUM consists of classroom lessons and large group presentations
- INDIVIDUAL PLANNING consists of activities that help all students plan, monitor, and manage their own learning as well as their personal and career development.
- RESPONSIVE SERVICES consists of activities to meet immediate needs and concerns of students.
- SYSTEM SUPPORT consists of management activities that establish, maintain, and enhance the total guidance program.

When do counselors meet with students?
Counselors may meet with students individually, in small groups or through lessons presented in class rooms. Students may arrange to consult with their counselor by notifying a teacher, administrator or the counselor directly.

What should I do if I have a question or concern about my child's education?
Parents are encouraged to communicate directly with their child’s teachers regarding questions or concerns about academic performance. Counselors may support this communication process and consult with parents and teachers about supportive strategies.

How do I know the name of my child's counselor?
Counselors are assigned to teams. Check back soon for the staff directory.

How can I see or talk to my student's counselor?
You can see or talk to your student's counselor by email, phone, or by appointment. The counselor is available most days from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm from late May through early June. There are days when the counselor is not available due to previously scheduled appointments.

How can my student see or talk to his/her counselor?
A student can fill out a request for the counselor to see him/her. The student should get a pass from a teacher to fill out the request or come to the guidance office before/after school or during lunch.

When can I expect to hear back from my child's counselor after leaving a message or email?
Three counselors and one social worker are servicing students at LaSalle Springs Middle School. Please be patient as we work to get back to you as soon as possible. If you have an urgent concern, please contact a school administrator.
