Library Media Center Hours

The library opens at 8:50 and closes at 3:59.

Library Schedule

Students attend weekly 30 minute library lessons. The Rockwood library curriculum includes four main units of study: Location and Access, Fiction and Informational Text, Digital Citizenship, and Information Literacy.

Check Out

Students grades 1-5 may check out three books at a time. For research, more items may be checked out. Students in kindergarten may check out 2 books for a week at a time.  Grades 1-5 may have books for two weeks.

Parents now have the ability to receive daily email notifications regarding the materials their child has checked out of the school library. Parents wishing to receive these daily emails should contact their child's school librarian to activate this feature. 

Overdue Books

We do not charge fines, but strongly encourage students to have all materials back on time so that others may use them. Overdue lists are periodically printed for the classroom teachers as a reminder for the student. There is a charge for replacing lost or damaged materials.
