Training

  • Rockwood makes every effort to ensure that schools and facilities are safe and secure environments for students, staff, and visitors.  The district has a comprehensive training plan that includes the needed planning, response, and recovery measures.

It is important for all school and district staff to understand their responsibilities during a school emergency. District training includes an annual review of the district's plan and annual training for principals and staff.  School fire inspections, safety and security audits, and safety drills for students and staff are routinely conducted.  Emergency communications systems are tested regularly and each school is equipped with emergency weather warning systems.

“We want to thank all of our area first responders for the partnerships we share with them and their invaluable role in supporting our safety efforts in the Rockwood School District,” shared Superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain. “With the help of our staff members and community partners, we can keep our buildings welcoming and safe spaces for our staff to work and for our students to learn and grow.”
