School/Community Relationships
-
Rockwood understands that one of the keys to ensuring the best educational experience possible for our students and families is great communication. We offer two-way conversation with all Rockwood community members through multiple channels.
The Rockwood School District Website
The Communications Department manages the official Rockwood website. Whether it's latest news, upcoming events or announcements, the Communications Department uses various media platforms—video, web articles, social media—to keep the community informed.
Calendars
On every school's site, you will find a school calendar. This calendar provides a list of monthly activities for the school, Parent-Teacher Organization and staff. View the district calendars.
School Websites and Announcements
School Announcements are a school communication tool that takes the place of a printed newsletter and eliminates the need to navigate the school website for pertinent information. All relevant parent communication information is just one click away: Navigate to the "Our Schools" icon at the top of our homepage to find a list of links to our school websites.
Social Media
Our goal is for schools and activity directors to use social media to share events, community activities, schedules, scores and time changes. We will continue to use other forms of communication; Twitter and Facebook are just some of those tools that relay information in a timely manner.
PTO Communication
Our parent-teacher organization keeps parents in the loop through the PTO page on our school website. Learn more about Presidents' Forum.
ParentSquare Messages
Phone or Email: Parents will receive important information - such as emergency notifications, school closings due to inclement weather and other school news. Learn more about ParentSquare.
Teacher Websites
To help build upon learning, teachers share important information about what's going on in the classroom. View a staff directory list an search by your school.
The ParentSquare App
Stay connected to the latest school news and events using the ParentSquare app for smart phones. Learn how you can stay connected through a mobile device.
Community Education and Partners in Education
Parkway-Rockwood Community Education and Partners in Education are two unique programs that benefit our schools and the community. Adult education and literacy, Adventure Club, visual and performing arts, career shadowing, classroom presentations and Project Interface are just a few of the many offerings of the programs. The Communications Department supports both programs internally and externally.
Outreach to Media
There are great things happening in Rockwood every day. The Communications Department not only creates press releases to local media outlets concerning school events, human interest stories and great things teachers and students are doing, but we act as a liaison between schools and media. This allows our teachers and students to avoid as much distraction as possible. Visit the Press Room.
