Create a Meal

Breakfast

  • A student must select a minimum of three of the four required food components including a fruit or vegetable for a complete breakfast. A student may select up to four of the components for the meal price.

    • Eat a minimum of two food groups and a maximum of four.
    • Start with fruit, juice, or both.
    • Add an entrée (grain and/or protein) and a serving of milk.

    Examples

    Fruit + Protein + Milk = Meal

    Fruit + Grain + Milk = Meal

    Fruit + Fruit + Grain = Meal

    Grain or Protein + Milk = Not a Meal (no fruit)

    Grain + Milk = Not a Meal (no fruit)

Lunch

  • A student must select a minimum of three of the five required food components including a fruit or vegetable for a complete lunch. A student may select up to five required food components.

    • Eat a minium of three food groups and a maximum of five.
    • Start with a Fruit or Vegetable (or both).
    • Add Whole Grain, Lean Protein, and a serving of Milk.

    Examples

    Fruit + Whole Grain and Lean Protein = Meal

    Vegetable + Fruit + Milk = Meal

    Vegetable + Whole Grain and Lean Protein + Fruit = Meal

    Whole Grain and Lean Protein + Milk = Not a Meal (no fruit or vegetable)

  • Items taken that are not part of the meal or are in addition to the meal are considered a la carte and will be charged separately.
