How do I register for a program?
Online registration is the most convenient way to register. You will need to create an account on the online registration system if you do not already have one. Creating an account is quick and easy. Once your account is created, all children and family members must be added to your account prior to registering them for a program. Can I register for a program if my child does not attend a Parkway or Rockwood school or I do not live in Parkway or Rockwood?
Yes! Community Ed programs, with few exceptions, are open to everyone throughout the St. Louis area. If a program is limited to district students it will be noted in the course description on the online registration system.

When does registration open?
Registration for most Community Ed programs takes place as follows:
- Fall Programs: Registration opens in late July/early August
- Winter/Spring Programs: Registration opens early January
- Summer Programs: registration opens in late January/early February
- Adventure Club: School-year before/after care opens in January
- Rockwood Swim Club: All new swimmers need to attend a swimming placement session which is offered multiple times throughout the year. Visit the Rockwood Swim Club website for more information.
- Rockwood Thunder Volleyball Club: Tryouts take place as follows:
- Boys U10-U18 Teams: September
- Girls U10-U14 Teams: October
- Girls U15-U18 Teams: July

How do I know if I'm registered?
When registering online, a registration confirmation email will be sent to the email address listed in your account. You can also log into your account on the online reigstration system and review your account history for current and upcoming registrations.

Is fee assistance available for Community Ed programs?
Fee assistance may be availble to those who qualify and is based upon meeting certain income guidelines. Some progrms have limited fee assistance, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Are there discounts for individuals age 60 and older?
Yes! We have two programs for individuals age 60 and older:
- Gold Card: The Gold Card is free to Parkway and Rockwood residents age 60 and older and provides unlimited discounts up to 50% off many Community Ed programs.
- Silver Card: The Silver Card is free to individuals age 60 and older living outside the Parkway and Rockwood School District boundaries and provides unlimited discounts of 15% off many Community Ed programs.

The program I want to register for is full. What do I do?
Some programs have the option to sign up for a wait list when they become full. You can sign up for the wait list through the online registration system. Although the system will ask for a payment method when signing up for the wait list, you will not be charged unless you are placed into the program.

Does Community Ed cancel programs due to inclement weather?
If the Parkway or Rockwood School District closes due to inclement weather, then all Community Ed programs are also cancelled in either Parkway or Rockwood. You can stay up-to-date on Community Ed program cancellations through our RainoutLine system. With RainoutLine, you can receive updates via several methods including the RainoutLine app, email, text, phone hotline, social media and the Community Ed website. How will I find out if a program is cancelled?
Community Ed will email participants if a program is cancelled due to non-weather related reasons. For weather related reasons, you can stay up-to-date on Community Ed program cancellations through our RanoutLine system. What grade level do I register for when signing my child up for summer programs?
For summer programs, children should register based on the grade level they will be entering for the next school year.

Do you have behavior management and/or discipline guidelines for participants in programs?
Yes, we have outlined behavior management and discipline guidelines to help define expectations and ensure participant success in programs.

I have a voucher/credit amount from a previous program. How do I apply it to a new registration.

How do I find the blackout dates for the basketball, volleyball and flag football leagues?
You can find an updated blackout date list for all sports leagues in the Coaches Corner section of our website. Once on the page, choose the tab for your league in the 'Resources by Sport' section for the blackout date list. The list is updated on a regular basis, so be sure to check often.

How can I provide feedback for a program I've taken?
An electronic program evlaluation is sent via email following completion of all programs. If you have any additional information you would like to provide regarding a program, you can complete this feedback form.

Where is the main Community Ed office located? What hours is the office open?
The main Community Ed office is located at 1401 Froesel Dr., Ellisville, MO 63011. We are located on the campus of Ellisville Elementary School. We have a dedicated entrance for Communit Ed that is on the east end of the campus closest to Clarkson Rd. Please do not enter through the main doors of school. When are program guides mailed to district households?
Program guides are mailed three times per year to coincide with the start of registration for each season. The Fall program guide is mailed in late July/early August. The Winter-Spring guide is mailed in early January. The Summer program guide is mailed in late January/early February. Why should I take the High School Equivalency (HSE) Tests?
The HSE Test will give passing students a high school equivalency certificate, which is recognized by the military, community colleges, universities, and employers as being equivalent to a high school diploma.

Do you have citizenship classes?
Yes, we offer a class designed to help students prepare for all aspects of the citizenship process.

Will I receive a certificate of completion when I finish my class?
Yes, if a student completes a specified number of hours, their teacher can award a certificate of completion.

What days and times are classes offered?
Classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
We also offer classes Monday through Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. -
Do you have classes for pronunciation?
Pronunciation is an important part of our English instruction. We combine that with
instruction in Reading, Writing, Listening, and all other areas of Speaking. This includes conversational English, as well as phonics. -
Do you offer virtual classes?
We currently offer a small number of virtual classes.
Our virtual classes are limited to students who test at the high intermediate level and above.

We offer in-person classes during mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Do I need to be a citizen to sign up for classes?
No, we welcome all students. Whether you are here for a few months as a visitor, a
resident, or already a citizen, if you want to improve your English, we are here to help
you reach that goal. -
How much do ESL classes cost?
Our classes are free.

How do I know which class to sign up for?
After you register, you will be asked to set up an appointment for placement testing. Test categories will include the areas of Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. We will then place you in a class based on the results of your tests with other students who performed similarly on their tests.

When are classes offered?
Our fall semester begins in August each year. After the winter holidays, the second
semester begins in January. We also have a shorter summer semester in July and
August. -
Who can sign up?
You must be 17 years of age or older to register.

I work during the week. Do you have weekend classes?
No, we do not have classes on Saturday or Sunday. We only offer classes Monday through Thursday.

I work during the day. Are there any night classes?
Yes, we offer night classes for all levels of ESL instruction.

I’m interested in going to college. Will these classes prepare me for taking the TOEFL?
For students who are interested in attending college, we do have a separate TOEFL
class.This class is only for students who are planning to take the TOEFL. This class is
not just a high level class. It is designed to get students ready to take the TOEFL.We have other high-level classes available for students interested in refining their language skills.

Can I take these classes to fulfill my student visa requirements?
No, our program is not certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to fulfill F1 student visa requirements.

My schedule sometimes changes. What if I have to miss class? Do I have to go to class every day?
For the best results, we recommend that students attend class every day, but we understand that is not always possible for working adults.
If your schedule changes and you are
missing class frequently, we also offer classes at other times. Students should speak to the office about changing their schedule. -
Do I need to buy textbooks?
No, we provide books for use in class. You may not take the books home with you because we use those books for several classes throughout the day.
If you would like to purchase books, your teacher will give you recommendations.

What if I’m placed in a class and it’s too difficult for me?
Many students feel this way in their first weeks of a new class. We ask that you give a new class a week or so before you judge the class as too difficult. Our testing methods give us an accurate idea of which class you belong in. Sometimes it’s just a matter of getting comfortable with the teacher.
If, after that time, you still feel the class is too difficult, you can speak to your teacher or the office about changing your placement.

Do you provide childcare?
Our facilities aren’t set up for children. Students must provide their own childcare.

Can I enroll after the semester has begun?
Yes! We understand that people move into our area at all times of the year. We have
open enrollment throughout the year. -
Do I have to live in Parkway or Rockwood School Districts to enroll?
No, but you must be a resident of the state of Missouri to enroll in our classes.

You may sign up using our virtual registration form. After your form is submitted, we will contact you to set up an appointment for placement testing.

What do HSE and GED mean?
HSE is an abbreviation for High School Equivalency. GED® is an abbreviation for the General Educational Development high school equivalency tests.
In January 2014, the HiSET™ test replaced the GED® test as the official High School Equivalency (HSE) test for Missouri. -
Why should I take the High School Equivalency (HSE) Test?

Do I need to have/know how to use a computer?
For our virtual classes, you will need a computer or tablet. Computers are not required for our in-person classes.
Tests are computer-based.

How long are the High School Equivalency (HSE) Tests?
It takes approximately eight hours to complete the entire battery of tests. The individual tests range from 65 minutes to two hours in length. Most people schedule the tests one at a time.

If you are 16 years old, you must have a letter from your principal stating that you have 16 credit hours, are no longer enrolled in high school, and have permission to take High School Equivalency (HSE) tests. If you are 17 years old, you must be withdrawn from school.

The teacher at your site will design an independent study plan just for you with your needs in mind. You will work on lessons designed to help you learn everything you need to know in order to pass the tests.

No, our classes are open to everyone regardless of location of residence.

I completed an online application for my child for Adventure Club. Does this mean we're enrolled and ready to go?
Submitting an application means the process has been started but is not yet complete. All contract applications are time stamped and dated in the order received. You will receive a notification once your contract is approved.

Why do I get charged the same monthly tuition during holiday months?
The total cost for the scheduled attendance days in the school year is divided into ten (10) payments; one partial payment and nine full payments. There are no charges for school holidays included in your monthly tuition payment. Holiday/non-school days are a separate registration and fee.

How late can I register for care on a non-school day?
The registration window for non-school days ends three weeks before the date being requested. Late registration may be available for an additional fee depending on space availability in the program.

My child is currently on a waitlist. When will he/she be let in the program?
When a waitlist occurs, we will continually work toward activating your child(ren)'s enrollment. Status of waitlists can vary from day to day and from location to location, depending on several factors. We understand this can be an inconvenience to your family and we will promptly notify you once your child's enrollment can be activated. Do you know someone who might want to work for Adventure Club? Refer them today and you may be eligible to receive a $100 credit to your account. There is no limit to the number of staff you can refer. Complete a staff referral form today.

How do I make a schedule change?
A schedule change can be requested through your online account, or you can send a request to info@prcommunityed.org. All changes become effective starting on a Monday for staffing purposes. A two-week notice is required. How does drop-off/pick-up work for Adventure Club?
When arriving at Adventure Club, ring the buzzer to gain entrance and sign your child in or out of the program. Only an authorized pick-up will be allowed to sign a child out of Adventure Club.

What time can we drop off in the morning/pick up in the afternoon?
The before/after care program operates from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. in both Parkway and Rockwood. You may drop your child off any time after 6:30 a.m. and they must be picked up no later than 6 p.m.
For programs held during non-school days (summer, winter break, spring break and other non-school days), hours of operation are 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. You may drop your child off any time after 7 a.m. and they must be picked up no later than 5:30 p.m.

Where is the Adventure Club program located in my school?
The Adventure Club program is typically located in the cafeteria or a multi-purpose room within each Parkway and Rockwood elementary school.

What happens if I'm delayed and can't pick up on time?
You must make arrangements for someone on your contact list to pick up your child/children, and notify your Adventure Club site. Children picked up after the scheduled program end time will be charged a late fee of $2 per minute per family.

How will my child get to and from Adventure Club during the school day?
In the morning, the Adventure club staff will dismiss the children to class at the sound f the bell. After school, the office will typically announce dismissal to Adventure Club before busses or parent pickups.

Does Adventure Club provide breakfast before school?
Breakfast is not provided, however you are welcome to send breakfast with your child or they may get breakfast in the cafeteria through the school program.

Can I do drop in care or flex the days my child attends week to week for Adventure Club?
A set schedule is required for the before/after care program ensure adequate staffing is in place.

How do I withdraw from the program?
A withdrawal or drop of an entire session can be requested through your online account or through an email to info@prcommunityed.org. A two-week notice is required and all changes become effective starting on a Monday. Tuition fees will be charged through the last day of the required two week notice period.

Do current Adventure Club families get priority when registration opens for the next school year?
Yes. Current year Adventure Club applications received during the first two weeks after registration opens will receive preference over new family applications.

I am leaving the country on holiday/vacation for a month. Can I pause my account?
We are unable to hold spots without payment when a child will be absent for an extended period of time. You have the option to stay in the program and continue to pay tuition or you can drop/re-register when you are ready to return. Acceptance into Adventure Club would be subject to availability at the time you re-register and registration fees would apply.
