The role of the school social worker in the Rockwood School District is to partner with the school counselor to identify students and families in need of extra support as they navigate life’s challenges. The school social worker provides support with mental health and behavioral concerns, as well as positive behavioral support, classroom support, consultation with parents and school staff, and therapeutic individual and group support. The school social worker offers a variety of services and resources for students and families. Learn more about the Rockwood Social Work Department.

Rockwood Got Your Back Pack
Got Your Back Pack is a program that provides nutritious food to students in need. Each weekend, our homeless students receive a backpack filled with nutritious food items that are easy to open, simple to prepare and can accommodate a variety of living circumstances.

The Giving Place
The Rockwood Gives Back Giving Place is a donation center established to provide items for our own Rockwood students in need. It’s all about working together to help students overcome challenges so they can learn, grow and graduate.

988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States. The Lifeline is comprised of a national network of over 200 local crisis centers, combining custom local care and resources with national standards and best practices.

Rockwood Mental Health Resources
Rockwood provides multiple supports for students and families, including: school counselors, school social workers, social-emotional behavior specialists, partnerships with community resources such as Alive & Well Communities St. Louis; our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors program; and parent workshops on topics such as mental health and wellness.
