Personnel

At last night’s meeting, the Board of Education approved the hiring of five new administrators, all effective July 1.

• David Beck, assistant principal at Lafayette High
• Derec Guilstorf, assistant principal at Rockwood Valley Middle
• Erin Koch, principal at Kellison Elementary
• Eric Nieman, director of facilities
• Dr. Katherine Rottjakob, administrative intern at the Center for Creative Learning

David replaces Dr. Colleen Fields, who is retiring at the end of the school year; Derec replaces Dustin Hays, who has taken the activities director position at Rockwood Summit High; Erin replaces Dr. Kimberly Dickens, who is retiring at the end of the school year; Eric replaces Chris Freund, who is also retiring at the end of the school year; and Katherine replaces Dr. Paul Husch, who has taken a position outside the district.

>> The Board approved the retirement of Dr. Dawnette Wiskur, coordinator of professional learning, effective June 30. Dr. Wiskur will retire after 11 years in Rockwood.

Board of Education Awards Ceremony

The Rockwood community came together to recognize more than 170 students and staff members for their accomplishments at the March 13 Board of Education Awards Ceremony. We honored our elementary, middle and high school students and staff during the evening.
