ESSER Funding
The Rockwood School District is the recipient of $11.4 million of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds, established by separate federal legislation to provide financial assistance to school districts as they work to ensure continuity of educational services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The one-time funds that have been appropriated by the Missouri Legislature are provided by two funding sources:
- ESSER II – appropriated by CRRSA in December 2020 ($3.5 million) to be spent through Sept. 30, 2023
- ESSER III – appropriated through ARP in March 2021 ($7.9 million) to be spent through Sept. 30, 2024
The district has received approval from DESE for our initial allocation of our grant funding. It is important to note all budget revisions and changes to the allocations will be reviewed by DESE and are subject to year-end federal audit requirements currently performed by Kerber, Eck & Braeckel, LLP.
