Communications
Crisis Workshop
This annual meeting brings together emergency management officials, school administrators and parent leaders to provide opportunities for introductions and crisis scenario discussions.
ParentSquare
The ParentSquare and StudentSquare apps provide our school community with instant notifications and direct messaging during times of emergency situations.
The district’s automatic notification system, which includes contact information for all Rockwood staff members and parents, ensures the district is prepared to use phone, email and text messaging to engage during times of crises. In addition, an extensive listing of community groups is regularly updated to ensure Rockwood can reach our emergency management officials, city officials, private/parochial principals, Board of Education, as well as a variety of community groups.
District and School Websites
Rockwood’s investment in online communication ensures a foundation in crisis messaging via websites for the district, schools and supporting departments/programs. A crisis banner is available at the top of every site to communicate emergency messages and crisis response.
Social Media
Rockwood’s social media accounts reach a combined audience of more than 45,000 individuals, increasing our voice on social media channels Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube.
The district utilizes a media intelligence service to provide broadcast media and social media monitoring to keep abreast of online conversations that could pose potential threats to school safety.
Ten Steps to Crisis Communications
Rockwood Communications incorporates messaging maps of crisis communication for timely sharing of safety information with all audiences.
