Homebound
Rockwood staff members work diligently to keep each child in school. At times, however, a child may need to be out of school for medical reasons. The District goal is to have the student return to school as soon as possible. Medical homebound is not intended to be a long term service or a substitute for a full day of instruction.
Information regarding homebound services is available through your child's school counselor. When appropriate, alternative strategies to support a student will be implemented prior to approving a homebound application.
The Rockwood School District strives to work with students, families, physicians, and community agencies to ensure each child's academic and physical needs are met. Homebound services are an appropriate way to support a student's learning needs when they are unable to attend school due to injuries, medical illness, or treatments.
