Fireworks, Explosives, and Ammunition
The use of fireworks, explosives or ammunition creates a hazard to both life and property. Therefore, any student setting off a firework, explosive or ammunition anywhere on school property, buses or at a school sponsored activity off school property will be suspended up to ten (10) school days out-of-school, with a possible recommendation for a suspension up to 180 school days and/or expulsion. Legal authorities may be contacted. The possession or sale of a firework, explosive or ammunition anywhere on school property, buses or at a school sponsored activity off school property will result in an out-of-school suspension of up to ten (10) school days for the first offense. A longer suspension may be given by the superintendent/designee in the event that sale or possession takes place more than once. Legal authorities may also be contacted.
