Safety

The safety of our students, staff and families is a top priority in the Rockwood School District. With the passing of Proposition 3 in 2023, the district established debt-free resources for annual safety, technology and facilities needs without increasing the tax rate. Here are the latest plans and timeline for the use of Prop 3 funds for safety:

• All exterior doors will be connected to a door monitoring system with keypad entries. All elementary schools, the CCL and Early Childhood centers are scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2025. Middle schools, high schools and auxiliary locations are scheduled to be completed the following summer (2026).
   
• Exterior security camera upgrades by the Technology Department will follow after the door access controls projects are completed in the same order. Every exterior door that will be updated with the monitoring system will receive upgraded surveillance systems as well.
