Having reliable technology is essential to student learning in the Rockwood School District. With the passing of Proposition 3 in 2023, the district established debt-free resources for annual safety, technology and facilities needs without increasing the tax rate. Here are the latest plans and timeline for the use of Prop 3 funds for technology:

  • In preparation for the 2024-2025 school year and in anticipation of Proposition 3 funds available later that fall, the Rockwood Technology Department oversaw a massive tech refresh of Chromebooks and iPads this summer. More than 5,000 new Chromebooks were distributed to sixth-, ninth- and 10th-grade students, and more than 1,000 new iPads were distributed to kindergarten through second-grade students at five elementary schools as the beginning of a continual refresh process.

  • As part of a new classroom technology standard that has been developed, we will begin the replacement of our existing SMARTBoards that are aging and in need of replacement. The new classroom standard calls for an interactive SMART MX 75 inch flat panel according to the following tentative installation schedule:
    • Spring of 2025: active support tickets, Early Childhood at Clarkson Valley, Vandover and Eureka locations;
    • Summer of 2025: Babler Elementary, Bowles Elementary, Fairway Elementary, Geggie Elementary, Green Pines Elementary, Kellison Elementary, Pond Elementary, Stanton Elementary, Westridge Elementary, Crestview Middle, Wildwood Middle, Rockwood South Middle, Marquette High and Rockwood Summit High;
    • Summer of 2026: Ballwin Elementary, Blevins Elementary, Ellisville Elementary, Kehrs Mill Elementary, Ridge Meadows Elementary, Uthoff Valley Elementary, Wild Horse Elementary, Woerther Elementary, Center for Creative Learning, Lasalle Springs Middle, Rockwood Valley Middle, Selvidge Middle, Eureka High and Lafayette High.
