Frequently Asked Questions

Rockwood has always been known for its great schools, which require high-quality teachers and staff. But, compared to other St. Louis County school districts, Rockwood's pay and benefits have fallen behind, and the gap keeps getting bigger. This makes it harder to attract and keep teachers. It also makes it harder to attract and keep the staff who support the mission of our teachers, including bus drivers, classroom assistants, custodians and other support staff.
Prop S would help close that gap by increasing salaries and expanding benefits to more employee groups so Rockwood can compete financially with other local school districts.
Rockwood also takes school safety seriously. In 2023, the district hired its own school safety officers. Prop S would add two more officers to help keep our students and staff safe.
