Guidance and Counseling

  • Parents in Partnership

We consider parents to be vital members of our team and critical to our students’ overall success.  The Selvidge Guidance Department has developed a plan to increase school-wide parental involvement.  Our monthly newsletter includes parenting tips and articles.  The Guidance Department houses a Parent Resource Center where parents can check out books and videos.  Unique to Selvidge is the Parent Ambassador Program.  This program was developed by the counselors to connect parents new to the Selvidge community with current Selvidge parents to answer their questions and to provide them with information about their child’s new school.  Parents are always welcome and encouraged to actively participate in their child’s middle school experience.
