As we move into the second semester, it’s time to look forward to the course selection process for our 2021-2022 school year. It’s a critical part of determining the path your child will follow as they work toward graduation.
We understand that every Eureka High student is unique. Our online course guide will provide information about the many programs and courses that we offer. This guide also provides an overview of courses that will help set your student’s path for the next school year. Students should consult with their parents and teachers to determine the appropriate placement and course selections.
There are 5 steps in the course selection process:
Step 1: Listed below are presentation links including pertinent information regarding specific changes and opportunities for each grade level. Please review the presentation relevant to your child’s grade level prior to making courses selections. While working through the enrollment process, please review the online Course Description Guide to learn more about individual courses. (https://curriculum.rsdmo.org/guides).
Step 2: In the following two weeks, students are encouraged to seek assistance from parents and teachers in determining the courses that will prepare them for their education and/or career goals. Individual credit check letters will be mailed home the week of January 25th.
Step 3: From Feb. 1st @ 7AM through Feb. 8th @ 4PM, students will register for classes through an online portal using the enrollment instructions. All students must register for seven courses each semester (14 total). Please remember to enroll in both semesters of year-long classes.
Step 4: After completing the online registration, students/parents should print a copy of their course selections for their records.
Step 5: Academic advisement will take place during the latter part of February and into March. At this time, school counselors will meet individually with each student to review the student's course selections. Counselors will make recommendations in light of the student's educational and career goals and present academic achievement. Changes to course selections may be made at that time. If your child is virtual, please encourage them to keep an eye on their email for information for setting up a Zoom meeting.
**Please see the document links and videos below for additional information regarding enrollment materials and the enrollment process. Grade level enrollment presentations, as well as department overview videos and slideshows will also be available in the upcoming weeks on the EHS Guidance homepage.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, we are here to assist. We will work together to ensure you have a successful and enjoyable 2021-2022 school year.
