Class of 2024

Welcome to sophomore year Class of 2024!

We are working to plan another great year for you.  Many exciting events will punctuate your
sophomore year, and I think you will find it to be a fantastic year!  We are so glad you are part of the
EHS family, and we are going to work hard to show you how dedicated we are to your success and
involvement at Eureka High School.

What sets Eureka High School apart from other high schools is the sense of community shared by
everyone from students and their families to the great teachers, the staff, and the administrative team.
We all care about you, and we are all committed to helping you achieve your very best!  I want you to
remember that your attitude is one of the important keys to your own success.  As you think about your
sophomore year, I want you to set goals for yourself.  It is really important to write them down and take
a peek at them often throughout the year.  Make a plan to achieve those goals, and then, work your plan.
You will be amazed how much you achieve over the next year when you have a plan!  I am here to help
you and provide whatever support you need to accomplish your goals.

Remember that when your GPA is 3.0 or above, you are automatically in Renaissance! This is the high
school version of honor roll and recognizes academic excellence. Also, it is never too early to start
thinking of college, so keep in touch with your counselor and visit with our college specialist, Jeff
Buckman in the Guidance Office.

Parents, I appreciate your continued involvement in the lives of your student.  If you ever have any
questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,

Dr. George Calhoun
