The Rockwood Promise (DRAFT)
The district's five-year strategic plan represents our commitment to every child, every family and every employee of Rockwood.
The process of drafting a new plan since last May has included a Strategic Plan Kick-Off meeting, four community engagement meetings and six Strategic Plan Steering Committee meetings that have resulted in a draft five-year plan as well as a draft Rockwood Promise.
The Rockwood Promise is more than just an idea; it's the embodiment of who we are and how we operate. By articulating our community's pledge to every student, it provides the framework for realizing our new strategic plan. This Promise acts as a shared foundation or starting point that addresses every child, empowering us to collectively achieve our district and community aspirations.
Your Involvement
Providing your feedback
The draft Promise and Goal Areas have been reviewed and refined by not only the Strategic Plan Steering Committee, which represents students, staff, parents and community members from all grade levels and areas of the district, but also multiple groups including the Board of Education Student Advisory, Rockwood Learning Council, Presidents’ Forum and Parent RLC.
At this time, we would like for every patron in our community to weigh in. Your voice is critical so that all patrons are represented and can embrace the vision for our students and the future of Rockwood.
UPDATE - May 1, 2025
The Steering Committee took patron feedback and revised the Rockwood Promise on April 29, 2025.
So please take a moment to review this updated Promise. If you already weighed in, let us know what you think about the changes. If this is your first time taking a look at the Promise, please let us know what you think. Your feedback will be used for any final revisions before it is brought to the Board of Education in June.
