School Health Advisory Council
Tuesday, April 29, 2025
Via Google Meet 4:30-5:30 pm
Present for meeting were Amy Wehr, Wendy Shaw, Steve Hankins, Kary Bachert, Matt Coppin, Cheri Buettmann, Carmen Fischer, Todd Minichiello, Angie Nichols, Michelle Oertwig, Jana Ramsey, Andrew Shin
- Welcome and Introductions
- Wellness Policy 1820
- Exemption forms rolling in, but still waiting on several (have 18 out of 29)
- Steve will follow up with Principal who are delinquent
- Do “programs” such as EC and CCL count as buildings for these exemptions?
- Kate Moore, update from Presidents Forum
- Mrs. Bachert suggested we attend the annual PTO president forum meeting at the end of summer to get them all up to date on the requirements.
- Unfortunately Kate was absent so no update
- Matt Coppin community wellness/safety update
- Update on frequent reasons 911 is called during the spring early summer season
- From our October meeting “Goal to include Wellness in new CSIP that is currently being created”
- Mental health/wellness in CSIP
- Mental health captured in our 1820 regulation
- Policy 1820 has “optimal student outcomes and well being” and is mostly representative of the required elements (DESE audit) revised a year ago
- Dr. Hankins, keep reminding principals they are responsible for school store merchandise made available
- Next year will be assessment year last done 22/23
- Point person in each school building
- Core team members, admin, nurse, counselor, HPE, CNS, PTO
- Updates by anyone else?
- Carmen Fischer regarding parent survey going out soon from CNS
- Jana Ramsey regarding Adv. CLub starting to offer snack again, those will be outside of the school day, but they are trying to keep them healthy.

- Amy to talk to HOSA sponsors about students for next year
- Language in policy regarding assessment tool to use?
