Got Your Back Pack

Rockwood Got Your Back Pack (GYBP) is a program designed to provide nutritious food for children who are experiencing food insecurity. The purpose of the program is to supply shelf stable weekend food bags to supplement children's needs.
Every week, volunteers pack bags filled with nutritious food items that are easy to open, simple to prepare and can accommodate a variety of living circumstances. Those bags are delivered to the children' s schools to be brought home on Thursday/Friday for the weekend.
Did you know that....
- In October 2025, this program provided 80 food bags home each week, providing 1-2 food bags for families to have food at home on the weekends.
- When donations are available, this program sends snack bags to schools 2x per month to support students who need snacks before/during/after the school day.
- Rockwood has on average 200 families each school year who qualify as McKinney Vento (homeless).
- On average, 12%-13% of Rockwood families receive free/reduced lunch each school year.
Season of Receiving
If your family is in a season of receiving and you want more information about the above program please reach out to your school social worker. Any Rockwood family is eligible to receive a weekend food bag.
