There are plenty of opportunities for parents to be involved at the high school. Please contact your class directors if you’re interested in helping in the School Store, lending a hand during Homecoming activities, or participating in the Class fundraising events.
The Volunteer Committee also recruits volunteers for:
- Student Registration (early-August)
- Homecoming Dance (fall)
- Winter Formal Dance (winter)
Requests for volunteers for these activities are made through emails from the Lafayette Parent Organization (LPO). If you are unsure if your address has been included on the LPO distribution list, please email the LPO at LancerPTO@gmail.com with your email information.
And, always remember you can volunteer for the school store by clicking on this link:
The school store is open in the mornings before school and at lunch; they sell snacks and drinks as well as spirit wear and some school supplies. They need help each day collecting money from the kids and cleaning up afterwards. The schedule is very flexible this year as you can pick any day of the week to work, so sign up with a friend and come out to help!
Any questions concerning volunteer opportunities can be directed to the LPO Volunteer Coordinator. Thank you for your participation.
Volunteers Needed for Got Your Back Pack
Each weekend, the Got Your Back Pack program helps bring nutritious food to students in need.
Did you know?
Homelessness touches nearly every Rockwood school. In fact, current numbers show 180 Rockwood students are homeless with 32 percent of students residing in the county and 68 percent residing in the city.
How does Got Your Back Pack work?
Each weekend, our homeless students receive a backpack filled with nutritious food items that are easy to open, simple to prepare and can accommodate a variety of living circumstances.
You can help in 2 ways…
- Nearly every week, a few volunteers are needed to help prepare backpacks for district wide distribution. Visit Got Your Back Pack for more information.
- The program couldn't flourish without the amazing support from our community. This year, we've made it even easier to donate! Visit Got Your Back Pack for more information.
Of course, donations may also be dropped off at any Rockwood school or to Brittany Hogan, Coordinator of Educational Equity and Diversity, at her office located in Crestview Middle School, 16025 Clayton Road in Ellisville, MO 63011.
