Each and every day counts when your student is learning!
Here at Rockwood, we do whatever it takes to ensure all students realize their potential. Learning is a lifelong journey and we are here to help guide your child along the path. Make it a priority for them to be at school, on time, every school day.
Aim for at least 95% attendance. That is equivalent to nine school days missed per year, or no more than one day a month. This is especially important for high school students in the A+ Program, which has a 95% attendance record as a requirement.
Students can easily get off-track once the absences start to add up. A 90% attendance rate is 17 missed days of important lessons, support from teachers and staff, and time with their classmates. Being tardy can also disrupt your child's learning. Being 5-10 minutes late each day adds up to almost four school days missed.
Students who are chronically absent are more likely to struggle with learning, face suspension, or not graduate from high school.
Did You Know?
For every 1% decline in student attendance, Rockwood receives roughly 1.5 million dollars less from the state?
Rockwood's attendance prior to 2019-20 averaged 95%, since then it has dropped to 93%.
