Individual Career and Academic Plans
Every Rockwood student develops an Individual Career & Academic Plan (ICAP) during their 8th grade year as they prepare for high school. The purpose of developing the ICAP is to encourage students to start thinking about post-high school plans and areas they may want to explore as they choose their high school coursework. The ICAP process begins with students taking an interest inventory. They then use the results of that interest inventory to choose classes that align with their top career pathways and clusters.
Each year, prior to enrollment, students will revisit their ICAP to review their courses based on how their interests and pathways may have changed. It is expected that as students progress through high school that their interests and thoughts about what they want to do post-high school will change. The ICAP simply supports that exploration as students discover who they are as learners and along with their future pursuits.
