This week, for Mindful Monday, KSDK anchors Allie Corey and Rene Knott shared a special motivational message with Rockwood School District students.
"Mindful Monday" is a weekly activity for district high schoolers in which Rockwood Student Services
and Guidance and Counseling
staff members prepare a variety of wellness opportunities to help students start off each week in a positive way.
This week, Lafayette High
counselor Terence Small reached out to Corey and Knott -- hosts of the "Show Me St. Louis" morning show -- to see if they could offer students some words of affirmation. The newscasters were quick to respond with a nearly five-minute motivational video.
"Throughout your life, you're going to face some challenges where you go, 'How do I do this? How do I get through?'" Knott said. "Once you breathe deep and let it go, you're going to understand that with a clear mind and head that's moving forward, you're going to be alright."
"It is OK to not be OK," Corey added. "Don't try to hide how you feel. It is so important to reach out and talk to people about how you're feeling. Chances are, they're feeling the same way you are."
