Rock 'n' Roll is Here to Stay at Lafayette Homecoming Parade

The Lafayette High homecoming parade wound on for more than a mile Friday night.

The participants in the Lafayette High homecoming parade were ready to rock Friday night in Wildwood.

This year's homecoming theme is "Rock of Ages," and groups from schools such as Lafayette, Rockwood Valley Middle and Babler, Chesterfield, Ellisville and Green Pines elementaries did their part by donning wigs and costumes and blaring music from their floats.

The parade started at Green Pines and rolled through the neighborhood along Westglen Farms Dr. before turning onto Clayton Rd. and ending at the high school more than a mile from where it started, where the Lancer football team had a homecoming matchup with Parkway North.

Attendees lined the streets to take in the sights -- along with a substantial amount of candy -- as members of the Rockwood School District community showed off their civic pride.
