Rockwood Early Childhood Education is offering open enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year starting Jan. 19.
Children must be at least 3 years old by July 31, 2021, to be eligible for the 2021-2022 school year. Rockwood Early Childhood offers half-day preschool at its Clarkson Valley, Eureka and Vandover centers, as well as full-day preschool at its three centers and Early Childhood classrooms at all four Rockwood high schools.
Rockwood Early Childhood also still has spots available in its half-day and full-day preschool classrooms for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.
Rockwood's preschool programs are led by teachers who are certified by the state of Missouri in Early Childhood and/or Early Childhood Special Education. The program has its own curriculum that is aligned with Rockwood's kindergarten curriculum and engages students in rich academic and social experiences in a warm, welcoming environment.
This year, Rockwood Early Childhood teachers have been providing in-person learning since Sept. 30. Early Childhood Director Dr. Suzanne Foshage said students and staff members have been very successful in following Rockwood Safe Together
COVID-19 mitigation strategies.
"We have found that cases and quarantines are quite limited in our youngest learners and staff members," Foshage said. "We believe that, as we continue to follow mitigation strategies, we will provide a safe environment for our young children and staff."
Rockwood Early Childhood Education also offers programs such as Parents as Teachers, mini-preschool, developmental screening and special education.
