The Rockwood-Parkway College Fair will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, at Queeny Park in Ballwin. With 135 colleges and universities from around the country planning to attend, it's a fantastic opportunity for district high schoolers to meet face-to-face with college representatives.
This is the fourth year Rockwood and Parkway have combined to host the fair, and Rockwood Coordinator K-12 Guidance and Counseling Todd Minichiello said he expects the highest-ever number of colleges attending. The combined prestige and size of the two districts make the fair a can't-miss opportunity for quality higher learning institutions to meet with students, Minichiello said.
really a great kickoff for juniors and seniors to start having conversations
with their parents about colleges," Minichiello said. "You can find a lot of this information online, but having it right there all in
one building is very beneficial."
Students can pre-register for the event by visiting this page. Students who pre-register receive a barcode, which can then be scanned by the colleges in attendance as the students make their rounds at the fair. That way, their information is on file with the colleges.
lets that college know who they saw that night, which can be beneficial in the
application process," Minichiello said. "It shows your demonstrated interest in a
college, and that can count for admissions."
Rockwood students can find more information on the Rockwood-Parkway College Fair and other upcoming similar events by visiting their high school's College and Career Center in person or online.
