Board of Education Approves Contract Extension for Superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain Through 2027-2028

Board of Education Approves Contract Extension for Superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain Through 2027-2028

Earlier this spring, the Rockwood Board of Education unanimously approved extending Superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain's contract through the 2027-2028 school year.

Dr. Cain started in Rockwood in 2022 after an extensive nationwide search. His original Rockwood contract ran through the 2024-2025 school year, and the Board voted in Spring 2023 to extend his contract through 2025-2026 and Spring 2024 to extend his contract through 2026-2027.

Heading into the end of his third school year in Rockwood, Dr. Cain has embraced a leading role in soliciting input from all district stakeholders as we craft our next comprehensive districtwide strategic plan for 2025-2030.

"The Rockwood School District continues to benefit from Dr. Cain's direction and leadership," said Board of Education President Lynne Midyett. "We appreciate his commitment to excellence and vision for the future of Rockwood's students, staff, families and community members, and we are confident he will continue to make a positive impact in his role as superintendent."

Dr. Cain is a nationally certified superintendent who was named the 2022 Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) Superintendent of the Year and the AASA School Superintendents Association National Superintendent of the Year. In 2016, he was named the MASA New Superintendent of the Year for the St. Louis region.
