Board of Education Approves Hire of Danielle Reecht as Parkway-Rockwood Community Education Director

The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Danielle Reecht as director of Parkway-Rockwood Community Education, effective July 1. Reecht replaces Mike Seppi, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Reecht has worked for the City of O’Fallon (Missouri) Recreation Department for more than 18 years, most recently as the recreation superintendent, a position she has held for the past three years. She started with the city in 2007 as a part-time assistant for five years, a senior recreation assistant for two years, recreation specialist in youth activities for four years and then a program manager for five years before being named superintendent.

Reecht was named Missouri Parks and Recreation Association Outstanding New Professional in 2016 and received the City of O’Fallon High Five Award in 2020. She is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and a graduate of the National Recreation and Park Association Director School. She holds certifications in CPR and first aid and is AED certified by the American Heart Association. Reecht earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Southeast Missouri State University.

"I am incredibly excited to accept the position of Director of Community Education and truly honored to be entrusted with such a highly valued program,” said Reecht. “I look forward to collaborating with an amazing team to continue providing enriching and fun opportunities for our entire community."

Reecht lives with her husband, John, and two children in Fenton.
