Board of Education Approves Hire of David Beck as Lafayette High Assistant Principal

The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of David Beck as a new assistant principal at Lafayette High, beginning July 1. He replaces Dr. Colleen Fields, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Beck has taught English at Parkway North High for 18 years. He also has experience as a summer school principal in the Parkway School District and is currently leading the school’s Day of Service group for Special Olympics. He has experience coaching boys soccer and girls cross country and was an assistant men’s soccer coach at Missouri Baptist University. He is also the author of a published children’s book and is working on a second.

Beck earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Saint Louis University, a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Missouri Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Maryville University.

"I am thrilled to join Lafayette High School as assistant principal,” said Beck. “Lafayette is one of the top schools in Missouri, and I am honored to join the established leadership team and bring my wealth of experiences to the students, staff and greater community."

Beck lives with his wife, Danielle, and their three children in University City.
