Board of Education Approves Hire of Dr. Ben Johnston as Babler Administrative Intern
The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Dr. Ben Johnston as the next administrative intern at Babler Elementary, beginning July 1. He replaces Dr. Michelle Fitzsimmons, who has been named the new school principal, also beginning July 1.
Currently, Johnston is a third-grade teacher at Sorrento Springs Elementary in the Parkway School District, a position he has held for two years. Prior to that, he taught fourth and fifth grade, as well as eighth grade language arts and social studies, for seven years at the Academy of Innovation at Remington in the Pattonville School District. He also taught third grade for two years in the Meramec Valley School District. This summer, he will be serving as a summer school administrative intern for Parkway.
Johnston earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, a Master of Science in Education Administration from the University of Kansas and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University.
"I am so excited to be joining the Babler family as the new administrative intern,” said Johnston. “It is such an honor to be able to join and support such an outstanding community. I look forward to meeting everyone soon!"
Johnston lives with his wife, Michelle, in Ballwin.
