Board of Education Approves Hire of Dr. Katherine Rottjakob as Center for Creative Learning Administrative Intern

The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Dr. Katherine Rottjakob as the new administrative intern at the Center for Creative Learning (CCL), beginning July 1. She replaces Dr. Paul Husch, who has accepted a position outside of the district.

Rottjakob is a National Board Certified teacher who currently teaches in the Gifted Program at the CCL, a position she has held for the past seven years. Prior to that, she taught second grade for two years at Buder Elementary in the Ritenour School District. Rottjakob is an adjunct instructor at Maryville University, and she spent four years as a summer camp director at Westwood Country Club. At the CCL, she designed and implemented a STEAM program for 1st-5th grade gifted learners, and she was named Teacher of the Year in 2024. Rottjakob has served on multiple district committees, participated in the Ignite future leaders program and is a ROSE Award nominee.

Rottjakob earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Master of Arts in Gifted Education from Maryville University and will graduate in May with her Executive Educational Doctorate in Policy, Planning and Leadership with a focus on Gifted Administration from William & Mary.

"I am so excited to get to serve a program and community that has meant so much to me as a student and teacher,” shared Rottjakob.

Rottjakob lives with her fiance, Ben, in Manchester.
