Board of Education Approves Hire of Dr. Richard Regina as Selvidge Middle Principal

The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Dr. Richard Regina as the new principal at Selvidge Middle, effective July 1. He replaces Dr. Mike Anselmo, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Regina is currently serving as an assistant principal at Marquette High, a position he has held for 13 years. Prior to that, he taught language arts at Marquette for 13 years. Regina also coached field hockey and baseball at Marquette and has served as the Summer Academy Secondary Coordinator. He has served on multiple district committees and was a ROSE recipient in 2011.

Regina earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Master of Arts in Educational Administration, Educational Administration Specialist and Doctorate of Education, all from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

“Through my 26 years in Rockwood, I have worked with many Selvidge students, families and staff in various capacities as a teacher, coach and administrator,” said Regina. “I know it is a big responsibility, but I am looking forward to continuing the tradition of excellence amongst its students, leading such a talented and caring staff and taking an active role in the school community to make sure Stallion pride endures.”

Regina lives in Wildwood with his wife, Mandy, who teaches in Eureka, and their three children.
