Board of Education Approves Hire of Eric Nieman as Director of Facilities

The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Eric Nieman as the new director of facilities, beginning July 1. He replaces Chris Freund, who is retiring at the end of the school year after 30 years with Rockwood.

Currently, Nieman is a superintendent with Demien Construction, a position he has held since 2015, where he is responsible for overseeing large commercial construction projects. He also has six years of experience as a foreman with Interface Construction and three years as a carpenter with Jasper Quality Construction.

Nieman also has experience as a realtor with Century 21 Real Estate, and he attended the University of Central Missouri for three years.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to become the director of facilities for the Rockwood School District,” said Nieman. “I hope to continue the excellent work done by Chris Freund. While working at Demien Construction, I have had the privilege of working with Chris at 23 of the Rockwood schools. In this time, I have built relationships with the Rockwood facilities team, and I look forward to continuing to maintain the excellent facilities and build relationships with all of the Rockwood teams in the future.”

Nieman grew up in Wildwood and currently lives in New Haven with his wife, Jody, daughter, Haleigh and son, Cole.
