Board of Education Approves Hire of Raechal Catalano as Wild Horse Administrative Intern

The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Raechal Catalano as the next administrative intern at Wild Horse Elementary, beginning July 1. She replaces Erin Koch, who has been named the new principal at Kellison Elementary, also beginning July 1.

Catalano started her teaching career in Rockwood as a classroom assistant at Geggie Elementary in 2014. She was hired the next year to teach fourth grade at Fairway Elementary before moving to Ballwin Elementary, where she taught second and fourth grade for six years. Currently, Catalano is a fifth-grade teacher at Blevins Elementary, a position she has held for the past three years.  She has served as a team leader and on multiple committees and participated in the Rockwood Ignite program for aspiring administrators. She was nominated this year for Teacher of the Year at Blevins.

Catalano earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Fontbonne University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University.

"It is an honor to be welcomed by Wild Horse Elementary as the new administrative intern,” said Catalano. “I'm very excited to be a part of such a loving and dedicated school community. I look forward to collaborating with staff, students and parents to promote a positive learning environment."

Catalano lives with her husband, Tony, and their four children - three of whom attend Rockwood schools - in the Eureka area.
