Board of Education Approves Hire of Kyle Hamilton as Coordinator of Early Childhood Special Education Process and Behavior Services

The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Kyle Hamilton as the new coordinator of early childhood special education process and behavior services, effective July 1. Mr. Hamilton replaces Kimberly Gerth, who is retiring after 22 years with Rockwood.

Hamilton currently serves as a student behavior team specialist for Rockwood, a position he has held for the past year. Prior to that, he worked for the University of Missouri as a clinical behavior analyst and a behavior training specialist for four years. He also has two years of experience student teaching in the Cape Girardeau School District.

Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master of Science in Applied Behavioral Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is also a board-certified behavior analyst.

“I am deeply honored to take on this role as coordinator of early childhood special education process and behavior services and to continue my professional growth within the Rockwood School District,” said Hamilton. “The opportunity to contribute to such a dynamic district is both exciting and humbling. I am eager to bring my skills, experience and enthusiasm to the position and to work collaboratively with the dedicated staff, students and families of Rockwood.”

Hamilton lives with his wife, Mitzi, and their dog, Winston, in Brentwood.
