Board Student Advisory Group Wraps up Work for '24-'25, Looks Ahead to '25-'26
The Board of Education held its final Student Advisory meeting of the 2024-2025 school year May 15. The Student Advisory Group started during the 2023-2024 school year and consists of students from each of the four high schools and the Pathways Wellness Center, selected by their building principals.
The group meets once a quarter and is an opportunity for Board members to connect with, and hear directly from, Rockwood students. At the May 15 meeting, graduates were honored with a plaque and new members for the next school year were welcomed. The group also discussed their feedback related to the district's new strategic plan and what they liked about participating in the Student Advisory Group, as well as ideas for improving the discussions and increasing awareness across the district.
Thank you to graduating students Halah Almuttan, Colin Brookhyser, Mary Corkery, Adam Kuhn, Chloe Robinson and CJ Woode for providing your time and insights and to next year's group -- Noah Bairu, Andie Belz, Brody Davenport, Lauren Dibble, Courtney Duff, Vedha Inampudi, Mithra Menon, Ellie Pagan, Caleb Pickens and Marley Vanderveld -- for continuing this important work into the future!
