'Building on the Promise: Forward Together' Serves as Theme for Annual Administrative Conference

More than 150 Rockwood School District administrators, staff members and Board of Education directors gathered for the district’s annual Administrative Conference on July 21-22 at Eureka High.

The theme for this year’s conference was "Building on the Promise: Forward Together," centered on continuing the work of the district's five-year strategic plan -- "Forward Together" -- and one of its main tenets, "The Rockwood Promise," going into the plan's second year.

On the first day, attendees heard presentations from Superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain and Board of Education President Tamara Rhomberg in the morning, followed by updates on topics such as the district's Dignity and Belonging program, multi-tiered systems of support, employee benefits, visitor management, safety and technology. 

"I am so excited to come back together as a team to plan how we can best support our students, staff and each other in the coming school year," Cain shared. "With the Rockwood Promise as our collective framework and our pledge to every student, we 
embark on a new year aligned to our strategic plan, Forward Together. I am looking forward to kicking off the new school year with you and working with you to ensure all students in Rockwood reach their full potential."

On the second and final day, attendees worked through rotations covering important updates in areas such as data analysis and management, curriculum and instruction, finance, operations and technology.

Members of the Eureka cheerleading team helped welcome attendees on both days, getting each session started on a positive, high-energy note.

"As we step into this new school year, I want to express the Board’s deepest gratitude to each of you and your hardworking staff who tirelessly strive to create a nurturing, safe and empowering environment for our students," Rhomberg said. "Each day brings an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. We can have the best district strategic plan on paper but without the dedication and work you and your team do every day, the Rockwood Promise of empowerment, dignity, belonging and innovation will not be fulfilled. Please know that the Board is here to support your work. Together, we shall overcome challenges that come our way and celebrate the countless achievements that lie ahead."
