District Seeks Community Input for Strategic Plan
Rockwood is seeking input from all patrons – students, parents, employees and community members – to help shape the district’s next five-year strategic plan. The district has scheduled four community engagement meetings to help inform patrons and provide a platform for feedback to set positive goals, define priorities and determine the promise we want to make to our students, staff, families and community.
All members of the Rockwood community are invited and encouraged to attend. These will be structured, “results focused” sessions where attendees will work together to reach a consensus on the topics and questions presented. The first meeting was held Oct. 8 at Rockwood Summit High on the theme of "Nurturing Learning." The schedule and topics for the remaining three meetings are as follows:
-
Nov. 12 – Fiscal Responsibility at Eureka High
-
Jan. 14 - Highly Qualified Staff at Lafayette High
-
Feb. 11 – Safe and Caring Schools at Marquette High
Each meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the school library. The recommendations from the community engagement meetings will be shared with the Strategic Plan Steering Committee and incorporated into Rockwood’s plan, which will then be presented to the Board of Education for consideration.
Community members are also welcome to share their thoughts with the steering committee through this ThoughtExchange link. Please visit the Strategic Plan Steering Committee page on the district website for more information.
