Homecoming, Community Events Give Rockwood Schools Chances to Show Community Spirit

Each fall, our Rockwood School District schools showcase their community spirit through a variety of activities, including parades and homecoming events!

Rockwood Summit High and the entire Fenton quadrant of the Rockwood School District celebrated Homecoming week with a Friday night parade Sept. 19

Eureka High held its second annual Kindergarten-Senior Walk on the Thursday of Homecoming week, Sept. 25. Around 80 kindergarteners from Blevins, Eureka, Fairway, Geggie, Pond and Ridge Meadows elementary schools started at one end zone on the football field, seniors started in the other end zone and they all met in the middle, with the Class of 2026 presenting the Class of 2038 with bracelets as gifts.

Lafayette High celebrated its Homecoming Week on Sept. 26 with a day full of activities, including a parade before the Lancers football game that featured Lafayette student groups and representatives from Babler, Chesterfield, Ellisville, Green Pines and Pond elementary schools.

Sept. 26 was homecoming Friday at both Eureka and Lafayette high schools, and we celebrated by having some of our awesome student journalists from Eureka and Lafayette take over the Rockwood Instagram page.

Students Anna Brotherton, Emily Emerson, Brenna Heaghney, Anna Mowry and Caleb Pickens from EHS-hub covered all the action from Eureka homecoming, and The Lancer Feed student journalists Darby Morel, Zosia Paciorek, Maddie Roberts, Rishit Sohaney and Lexi Trost covered the events at Lafayette!

Marquette High celebrated its Homecoming week from Sept. 29-Oct. 3. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the school enjoyed two of its annual traditions: the Taste of Marquette event -- gathering families and community members to sample food from area businesses -- and the Senior vs. Junior Women's Flag Football Game.
